Curriculum

Expecting the Best is targeted toward high beginner/low intermediate ESL students.  Lessons teach a variety of functional skills and are linked to CASAS objectives.  We asked 165 ESL students and health department patients with limited English skills across North Carolina what health topics would be most interesting to them.  Health care, nutrition, and exercise/fitness were top choices.  We recommend using The Oxford Picture Dictionary in conjunction with the Expecting the Best lessons to enhance vocabulary development.
